The Federalist Era occurred within the time period of 1789 to 1800. One of the places that the Federalist Era took place in was New York. Northwest Territory, Great Britain, Spain, France. In New York, celebrations erupted when the Constitution was ratified. Also in New York, George Washington accepted his place in office as president. In the Northwest Territory, the Native Americans fought for their territory but eventually had to surrender most of it. During the Federalist Era, the French Revolution began. America tried to stay neutral during the war between France and Great Britain, but eventually got affected by it and almost went into war with Great Britain. The Federalist Era also occurred in Spain. After Jay's Treaty was signed, Spanish leaders realized that the U.S. and Great Britain could decide to take over Spain. The leaders made sure to establish a positive connection so they wouldn't want to take over Spain. Soon after, Washington found a way to steer a course that kept America both peaceful and prosperous.
